Congrats to the Arcade Fire
It’s been many years since I’ve bothered to watch the Grammy’s (I think I caught a bit of the broadcast the year the members from the cast of Across the Universe performed a few songs), and much longer still since I have cared about who wins any of the awards. I didn’t even know the awards were being announced on Sunday evening, and I definitely didn’t know that the Arcade Fire was up against the who’s who (Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber etc) of popular music for the year’s best record.
I only found out about the Arcade Fire being crowned with the Best Album of the Year a few hours after it happened, thanks in part to the level of outrage people had that a band they had never heard of had won the prestigious award.
People have taken to the internet en mass, wanting to know Who is Arcade Fire? They had actually performed earlier in the presentation, so I don’t understand why people were so confused.
If you haven’t had a chance to listen to their record, The Suburbs, you need to run to your local record store and pick it up immediately.
