Updates for March 24
Ever since I bought myself a new phone (BB Curve 8530!), I have developed the habit of checking my Twitter updates while on my way to and from work. Today, by the time I was home I was practically giddy with excitement and although most of this is common knowledge by now, I would still like to share the things I am excited about.
First, Broken Social Scene has released two more tracks off their forthcoming album Forgiveness Rock Record due out May 4, 2010. With all the ‘Broken Social Scene Presents’ albums, I was worried that we would have to wait for every member to do a solo album before they went back to being a band. You can buy the songs on iTunes, or listen to them (including World Sick which is also available in mp3 format) over at www.brokensocialscene.com
Second, the new MGMT album has been released by the internet mice. Although it have been available for streaming for a few days on their website – it will be nice to have it in a format that I can listen to easily on the go. Expect a review soon! Sorry, I can’t post a link to download the album but I believe in my readership’s ability to use the inter nets.
Finally, and the reason I was practically giddy by the time I got off the bus is that I found out that the Arcade Fire who are one of my favourite bands that I have always wanted to see live but never had a chance is playing Osheaga 2010!! Check out the full line up here. So far I am only planning to get a ticket for the first day (the Arcade Fire and Stars!!), but depending on the other artists added in the next few weeks, I may have to make it a weekend affair.
